Now I’m the tech guy around here and I love my iPhone. My art leans more towards making noise on guitars than taking photos or painting like the rest of the gang. Come to think of it, just seeing what Maryanne does and creates blows my mind as I just can’t see how it all goes together.
Sometimes something comes along that looks exceptions cool. The Apple App store is doing really well and there are tens of thousands of apps in there already. So many in fact that I’ve given up trying to keep track.
Some of these apps are a little silly and some of them are quite entertaining. Occasionally a few will come along that change the way the device is looked at. One of these I think is Netsketch, one of the fairly new drawing/ sketching apps for the iPhone.
I know Maryanne has been after an excuse to get one and maybe this will be the thing to put her over the edge. Or is that push Ken over the edge as he has to teach Maryanne how to use the iPhone.
Stef Kardos who I believe is a Disney artist, has already done some great work. With the application installed what you have is an incredibly portable tablet that you can paint on using your fingers. Some of her output is phenomenal.
Now who says art and technology can’t get along?
Netsketch is available from the Apple App store ![]()
